MedDrop - Medication Disposal Program

Do you have unused or expired medications in your medicine cabinet that you want to get rid of?  Flushing medications down the toilet is not recommended.  MedDrop is an organization that collects unused or expired medications and disposes of them for you.

The next MedDrop collection dates are June 5, 2010 and October 2, 2010 at several Dane County locations.  Please visit MedDrop for details.

Alternatively, several area communities have an organized hazardous waste drop-off location that will take medications year round. Hometown Pharmacies also offer a drug take-back program for drug disposal. Visit Hometown Pharmacy for hours and pharmacy locations.  You can scratch off the personal information on the bottle, but keep the name of the drug on the label so it can be properly disposed of.
