Key Information About Pharmacy Benefits

RX 90 Extended Supply Program

Unity’s RX 90 Extended Supply Program provides coverage for extended supplies of medications taken long-term without dosage changes. If your drug qualifies for the program, you can receive a 90-day supply of medication for 2 copayments instead of 3.

To qualify, a program pharmacist must verify that the medication you wish to receive is needed on a long-term basis and that you take the medication according to a stable, unchanging dosage regimen.

Eligible members have the option to receive the extended supply by mail or in person at the UW Health Specialty Mail Service Pharmacy located at the UW Health East Clinic.  Mailing is free; there are no shipping charges.

Eligibility
To find out if your medication qualifies for this program, call 866-894-3784 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm) to discuss your needs with a registered pharmacist. The pharmacist will work with your physician to determine if your medication meets eligibility requirements.

Why aren't all medications eligible for the RX 90 Program?
Eligibility for the program is patient-specific.  For example, you just started your new cholesterol medication and are scheduled to have your cholesterol levels checked in 4 weeks. Since the dosage may be adjusted after checking your levels, a 90-day supply will not be covered because there is the possibility of wasted medication if the dosage changes. In this instance, the medication will be dispensed in the standard 30-day supply for your normal copayment.

RX 90 refills: 2 convenient options
1. Placeholder for link to UW Website Online Refill Page (they will feature RX 90 program at top)
2. Toll Free Refill Line
A toll-free automated refill line (866-894-3784) is available 24-hours per day to take prescription refill requests. If the 90-day supply is dispensed by mail, a program pharmacist will contact you within 12 weeks to ensure you have timely refills and to discuss any issues or concerns you may have. This is your opportunity to ask questions.

Participating pharmacies
The RX 90 Program is provided through the UW Health Specialty Mail Service Pharmacy located at the UW Health East Clinic.

Is this a mail order program?
No, the RX 90 Extended Supply Program is not a mail order program. Rather, this is a program that allows coverage of extended supplies of medications, either through mail or by picking up in person. Unlike mail order programs, the Unity RX 90 Extended Supply Program places a priority on maintaining the patient-pharmacist relationship and minimizing medication waste.

This program does not apply to members who have Navitus drug coverage.  Any Wisconsin pharmacy in Unity’s participating pharmacy network that can meet the terms and conditions of the program may participate in the RX 90 Extended Supply Program. Pharmacies may contact the Unity Pharmacy Program at 888-450-4884 for a copy of the program terms and conditions or to apply to participate.
