Unity's Pharmacy Program

Unity’s pharmacy program is managed by the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Center for Drug Policy (CDP). The CDP is a nationally recognized leader in developing, implementing and studying drug use policy for a wide variety of health care settings. Our pharmacy program philosophy is built on the following key points:

• Focus on Value - We strive to focus on the value associated with the use of a medication rather than simply the cost.
• Collaboration - Unity's formulary process emphasizes collaboration with local practitioners and drug policy experts.
• Local - Unity's formulary is developed specifically for member needs and is based on local medical practice patterns.
• Integration - We strive for continuity and integration in drug policy throughout the UW Health System.
• NCQA - The pharmacy program is managed in compliance with NCQA standards representing "best practices" for pharmacy benefit management.
