MyUnity Enhancements Are Here

Practitioner Newsletter - Issue 4, 2011
The wait is finally over—The new MyUnity enhancements are here! We’re excited to provide electronic remittance advices and online prior authorizations through MyUnity. Because these features are still fairly new, we thought we’d share some additional information to help you as you use them.

Online Remittance Advices

You may have noticed that the look of the remittance advice has changed in addition to it being available online. A sample remittance advice is available within MyUnity if you have questions. With the addition of this feature, we will no longer be sending paper copies to those who have MyUnity accounts. All of your remittance advices will be stored within MyUnity so you can view or print them as needed. Please Note: You may receive old versions of the remittance advice on paper until you’ve fully moved to the new version.

Online Prior Authorization Process

The new online prior authorization process allows you to create prior authorization requests and review existing prior authorizations for your patients. To view exiting prior authorizations, you just need to be the patient’s primary care physician or a provider in your clinic needs to have had a relationship with the patient within the last 90 days. If neither one of these are the case, then you’ll need to request First Access. After a prior authorization request is submitted, the approval or denial letter will be faxed to you at the fax number we have on file for your place of service. Please check that we have the correct fax number for your facility. If we’re unable to fax the letter to you, then we’ll mail it to you. While creating a prior authorization or viewing an existing one, you’ll find a question mark icon. Click the icon and you’ll find information to help you if you have any questions. You can also walk through the prior authorization guide available within MyUnity.
